Hello world!

Well, this is my blog… I’m sitting outside in Mountain View, California, to which I have recently moved, setting this up. 

What should one right in a first post? The award for the most geeky must go to my collegue Shawn. I wouldn’t do something like that, honest. So instead, here is my most exciting discovery of the last week: aubergines (eggplants). I never really thought they were that great before, but it turns out that this was user error. So, gleaned from the unlikely source of a recipie book: HOWTO AUGERGINE. Slice, then sprinkle each side with salt (yes, me, using salt). Leave for half an hour. Being hydroscopic, the salt draws the bitter juices out of the fruit. Rinse, then cover with flour. Fry them for a couple of minutes. Eat. It was an amazing experience for me…

    Well i embrace my geekness, so i’ll accept the award with pride!

    I’ll have to try that recipe some time. I’m usually not a fan of eggplants, but i may have to make another run at them after removing those bitter juices.
